Why you should test your child
High levels of lead can cause serious health issues, such as:
- Learning problems
- Behavioral problems
- Slowed growth
- Hearing problems
- Developmental problems
Lead poisoning is 100% preventable. Please get your children tested at one of the many testing events we host throughout the year or from your family doctor.
When to test your child
Test your child if they:
- Are under 6 years old
- Live in a home built before 1978
- Live in a home with recent repairs to painted wood trim, walls, or floors
- If you are concerned for your child’s health
- Have a playmate or sibling with lead in his or her blood
