Whittier North East area ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades and resurfacing

The City upgraded the pedestrian ramps to ADA standards in 2025. The City will replace the pavement surface in 2026.

This project is part of the ongoing street maintenance program.

ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades

City staff completed the upgrading of pedestrian ramps to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards in 2025. 

Resurfacing

City staff will resurface the streets in this area in 2026. We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street. The new pavement should last at least 10 years.

Traffic impacts

The roads will close to traffic during the milling and paving work for periods of time. Roads will remain open during the evenings and nights.
