Program overview

This project is part of the ongoing street maintenance program.

ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades

City staff will upgrade pedestrian ramps to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards in 2026.

Surmountable curbs for wildlife

Traditional curbs may trap wildlife in the road and sewer. Surmountable curbs are easier for wildlife to cross. City staff will construct four surmountable curbs. These curbs will help wildlife cross between Roberts Bird Sanctuary and north Lake Harriet wetlands.

Standardized Full Depth Reclamation (SFDR)

Standardized Full Depth Reclamation (SFDR) is a process used to repair distressed roadways. The existing pavement and base materials are recycled into a new, stronger base layer. Doing this costs less than other methods. It is also easier on the environment.
