Como Ave SE corridor improvement project
Project overview
The City will create improvements for people walking and biking on Como Avenue SE, between 10th Avenue and 33rd Avenue.
A new bikeway will be separate from the road to keep people who bike safe. The project will also make changes at intersections and include traffic calming to make it safer. While the posted speed limit on Como Ave is 25mph, vehicles regularly go over this speed under current conditions.
In addition to safety, this project will make it easier for people to walk, bike, and ride transit in this area. We want to make it simple to get around and connect with other bike and walking paths, and to transit stations. This route is part of the All Ages and Abilities Bicycle Network.
This project will be developed alongside the Metro Transit H Line project.
This route is essential to the region, as it is part of the Regional Bicycle Transportation Network.
More information about safety and mobility is available in the City's Transportation Action Plan.
