Overview

The Climate Legacy Roundtable (CLR) serves as an informal advisory group on Climate Legacy Initiative investments and programs. Input from this group is used to inform Climate Legacy funded programming and reporting. Input is shared with:

  • City staff
  • City leadership

What we do

The CLR is asked to provide general guidance around annual topic areas. This group will focus on how to best help vulnerable and underserved communities as we work on climate equity.

The CLR brings together a variety of:

  • Lived experiences
  • Community knowledge
  • Relevant expertise

Appointment and meetings

The CLR consists of up to 17 members (plus alternates). They are appointed through an application and selection process.

Term of committee appointment

  • Two-year terms
  • Starting December 1 in even years (launched 2024)

Meeting schedule: Monthly meetings (typically the last week of the month, non-public)

Membership

The CLR borrows from existing City and community advisory groups. This helps them work together on environmental issues.

City advisory groups

Two persons from each of the following (plus one alternate):

Environmental justice organizations

Five to eight members come from environmental justice groups. These groups focus on Minneapolis communities and are interested in local projects and programs.

Experience and focus areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Engagement and community organizing
  • Climate resiliency
  • Air quality
  • Clean transportation
  • Clean energy
