Minneapolis Police PEACE internship

This paid internship gives you a head start and exposure to law enforcement.

Overview

The Minneapolis Police PEACE (Pathways Encouraging Active Community Engagement) internship is a career exploration program. It is a way for students to learn more about a future in law enforcement.

This internship is a direct pathway to become a community service officer.

Students will:

  • Build confidence and leadership skills
  • Learn what policing in Minneapolis is like with behind-the-scenes opportunities, related to:
    • K9 unit
    • SWAT
    • Forensics
    • Evidence room
  • Meet with mentors who care about your future and will help you grow
  • Be part of a supportive, welcoming program designed for students like you

Student qualifications

You need to be:
  • Between the ages of 16 and 21
  • Available weekdays
  • Thinking about a career in law enforcement
  • Passionate about helping others
  • Ready to make a positive impact in the City

Earn as you learn

You will:
  • Get paid $16/hour
  • Receive tutoring support to help you succeed in your current high school or college classes
  • Learn inside and outside the classroom through field trips and job shadowing
