To make Minneapolis a friendly and inclusive community, it's important to follow the city's rules about selling food. One of the rules is that you must have a license from the City to sell or give away food or beverages on the streets or sidewalks. 1

Selling. No person shall place, exhibit, display, offer for sale or sell, or cause to be placed, exhibited,
displayed, offered for sale, or sold, food products of any kind upon or above any sidewalk, street or alley.
MCO 188.160. - License required.
It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct or operate a food establishment without obtaining a license, therefore. The license issued under this chapter shall be known as a food license. No person shall engage in the business of selling food by vending machines without a license. Licenses are not transferable to other locations and individuals unless permitted in other sections of the ordinance.
