About Pearll Warren
Tinitha “Pearll” Warren is a lifelong Minneapolis resident with more than 40 years rooted in North and South Minneapolis. Raised by her father, Meyer Warren Sr., and her late mother, Dr. Elder Yvette D. House, alongside five siblings, Pearll’s commitment to community is deeply personal. She is a proud mother of six, grandmother of six, homeowner, entrepreneur, published author, and internationally recognized spoken word artist.
Pearll brings more than two decades of leadership across housing, education, environmental justice, and the arts making her a powerful advocate for equity and opportunity in North Minneapolis. Her career in the public and nonprofit sectors reflects a consistent focus on strengthening families, stabilizing neighborhoods, and expanding access to economic mobility.
Most recently she served as a Homeownership Development Manager at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Pearll helped families achieve sustainable homeownership through culturally responsive financial coaching and housing support. Her previous work with East African Housing Services and as a HUD-Certified Housing Stabilization Counselor at Urban League Twin Cities further advanced her expertise in affordable housing and long-term economic stability.
Pearll is also a two-term Environmental Justice Fellow with the Environmental Justice Coordinating Council and the Public Policy Project. Through this work, and her involvement with the City of Minneapolis Green Cost Share Program, she has championed clean energy access, environmental equity, and pollution reduction in frontline communities, particularly in North Minneapolis.
In education, Pearll served as a Lead Literacy Intervention Specialist with Minneapolis Public Schools, advocating for academic equity and youth success. Her background in youth outreach, intervention services, and public safety underscores her dedication to building safe, educated, and resilient communities.
Beyond public service, Pearll is the founder of Words of Wise-Dome, a platform that blends artistic expression with community empowerment. Her poetry and storytelling are nationally recognized tools for healing, advocacy, and transformation. She is also the founder of Black Berry Graphics, Inc., a small business recognized by the Minnesota Historical Society.
Pearll’s leadership has earned numerous honors, including the City of Minneapolis Merit Award and the Black Women’s Wealth Alliance Top Educators Award. She has also received letters of recommendation from the late Senator Paul Wellstone and Congressman Jim Ramstad for her work in youth entrepreneurship and economic development.
Grounded in integrity and guided by a vision of equity, Council Member Pearll Warren enters office with a bold agenda focused on stable housing, economic vitality, environmental justice, and community unity. She is committed to ensuring Ward 5 and all Minneapolis remains a place where families thrive, neighborhoods are safe, and opportunity is accessible to everyone.
