Application open for CCPO Alternate Members

The CCPO provides a forum for the public to have meaningful engagement in police oversight. The commission includes 15 Seated Members and up to 5 Alternate Members.  Alternate Members serve as civilian review panelists.

Review panels consist of three panelist, two civilian and one sworn.

Civilian panelists

• Inclusion in the pool does not mean they are eligible to serve.
• To be eligible, civilian panelists must meet qualifications outlined in our City ordinance.
  Read Chapter 172.60 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances.

Sworn panelists

• The pool of sworn panelists is assigned by the Chief of Police or the chief’s designee.
• As with civilian panelists, inclusion in the pool does not guarantee eligibility.
• Sworn panelists must meet all training requirements.
• They also must not have any open misconduct cases to be eligible to serve.
