Parades are:
- Processions of people celebrating or commemorating for a non-commercial purpose.
- Along one (1) or more contiguous blocks of a street or streets on which traffic is restricted.
- Events that the public can watch.

Parade permits are required for any:
This applies to any city street or alley, not including sidewalks.
Parades shall only take place between 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Parades in the downtown area may not take place between:
Exceptions are on Saturdays, Sundays or a legal holiday.
You must have a commercial general insurance policy for the parade with coverage of at least:
You must provide and pay for security staff under an approved security plan.
You must provide and pay for barricades and traffic control under an approved traffic control plan.
The City may install and remove:
*There may be extra costs if we must post temporary "No Parking" signs along the route. You may avoid a cost if you qualify to use a parking mitigation plan.
Barricades and other equipment can also be rented from several local private firms.
You must have an approved disposal plan.
During the event, remove all garbage and recyclables according to the plan.
For large parades, you must pay a security deposit. This is to ensure garbage and recyclables are properly removed after the event.
You must pay the parade permit fee to obtain the permit.
