Fire special event permit
Get a permit for events with fireworks and tents, tradeshows and more.
What to know
- Submit the application at least 15 business days before the event.
- We must approve the permit before your event takes place.
- Fireworks displays: Depending on the location and size of the display, you may need additional permits from the City and other jurisdictions.

Step 1
Submit your application
You can submit your application one of two ways:

Gather additional information if needed
We'll email you if you need to provide additional details about your event.
If so, you'll submit more materials through an online platform called ProjectDox.

You can expect to hear from us in 15 business days.

Pay the fee
You can pay:
- In person at the Minneapolis Service Center
- By mail to Inspections Services
- Make checks payable to Minneapolis Finance Department.
