Requirements 

We require a building permit for bleachers if: 

• Bleachers are more than 55 inches above the ground or floor
• Any part of the guardrail is more than 30 inches above ground or floor

Bleachers must comply with the:

• Minnesota State Building Code
• Minnesota Statutes, section 326B.112

Disability access

The following must comply with Chapter 1341 of the Minnesota State Building Code:

• Accessibility
• Parking
• Seating
• Signs
• Ingress and egress for people with disabilities
