The proportion of working-age residents in the labor force is labor force participation rate increased from 73 percent in 1980 to 79 percent in 2000, while Minneapolis' increased from 66 percent to 72 percent.
Tangletown had a much lower unemployment rate than Minneapolis, but it rose from 1980 to 2000. The neighborhood's rate was lower than 1 percent in 1980 and at 1 percent in 1990. In 2000, Tangletown's unemployment rate was 2.4 percent, compared to Minneapolis' 5.8 percent.
