Seward's median household income has historically been lower than Minneapolis'. The median household income in constant dollars in Seward rose by a little more than $5,000 between 1979 and 1999. The amount increase is similar to the citywide household income rise during the same period of a little less than $5,000. However, between 1979 and 1989, the neighborhood went through an income drop of more than $1,000 in constant dollars.
