Labor force

The labor force participation rate in Hale was equal to the Minneapolis rate in 1980. In 1990, Hale's rate increased to 79 percent and then increased only slightly in 2000; both decades brought Hale's rate higher than Minneapolis'.

The unemployment rate in Hale decreased from 2.9 percent in 1980 to 1.6 percent in 2000. The rate in 1990 decreased 9 percentage points despite an increase in Minneapolis' overall unemployment rate. The unemployment rate in Hale is significantly lower than the citywide unemployment rate.
