Labor force

From 1980 to 2000, Columbia Park's population in the labor force (those either employed or unemployed and seeking a job) dropped by 1 percent, from 67 percent to 66 percent. Minneapolis' labor force participation rate was similar, but it increased from 66 percent to 72 percent, surpassing the neighborhood's rate by 2000.

The unemployment rate in Columbia Park dropped to a low of 5.2 percent in 1990, then rose to 6.3 percent in 2000. Minneapolis' unemployment rate was lower than Columbia Park's in both 1980 and 2000 but higher in 1990.
