Urban Scholars

Urban Scholars logo II Urban Scholars is a 12-week leadership development summer internship that runs from May to August. The program is designed to:

  • provide leadership development training that will help Urban Scholars grow into positions of influence. 

  • create opportunities that will provide high-quality resume building work experience. 

  • Develop opportunities to create valuable professional networks.   


STEP-UP is a nationally recognized youth employment model that trains and matches Minneapolis youth ages 14-21 with paid summer internships. Youth complete a competitive application process and work readiness training to be considered for a position with one of over 230 participating businesses.
