Ready to serve Ward 7
Service has always shaped my priorities, and it’s a privilege to represent the people of Ward 7. I care deeply about the quality of living issues that impact us all, including affordability, economic vitality, public safety, and municipal fiscal responsibility. We see the cost of living and doing business in Minneapolis steadily rising, and we need a city budget that is sensitive to these realities, minimizing property tax increases and new spending. We also need to cultivate a constructive relationship with the business community, focus on livability and safety issues in our streets and ensure core city services are provided efficiently.
I am optimistic that over the next four years we can become more attractive to economic investment in Uptown and Downtown and spark job growth, more sustainable housing and increased revenue for our city. I am also optimistic we will be able to better support resident safety and reduce property crimes through strategic partnerships and accountability. Solutions that lead to practical improvements for the residents of our city will be my top priority.
But I also care about process — how we do things is often just as important as the end result. I am committed to prioritizing collaboration and respect with my colleagues and city staff. I will affirm high standards of transparency and ethics in the way we spend taxpayer dollars and do our work.
Finally, I will continue to cultivate a strong relationship with Ward 7 residents and stakeholders by focusing on responsiveness and follow-through. I look forward to problem-solving on local issues and making real improvements. I will be present in the community, value your input, and spend my time relentlessly on your behalf. Minneapolis is a great city and we will strive to make it even stronger.
It's time to get to work. Thanks for being a part of the team!
