About Linea Palmisano
Council Member Linea Palmisano was elected in November 2013, and has lived in the 13th ward for about 15 years.
She has a long history of involvement in our community. Before her election to City Council, she served as board chair of the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) and as an assistant track coach at Southwest High School. Additionally, she founded NAVIGATE, an immigrant college access program, served as a board member for the Linden Hills Farmers Market and successfully advocated for multi-modal transit improvements to our community.
These varied experiences in our community help her understand what it means to create sustainable opportunities and promote a quality of life that works for all of us. She is partnering her professional and community engagement experiences to continue the strong legacy of leadership of her predecessor, Mayor Betsy Hodges.
Outside of her community activism, her professional experiences include 15 years of private sector experience in roles with IBM Global Services, UnitedHealth Group, and assisting a local small business in its first year of establishment on W 44th Street.
It is essential that residents of the 13th ward are involved and engaged in citywide issues, and she is advocating for stronger and more transparent communications between residents, businesses and the City. During her campaign, Council Member Palmisano spent time in every neighborhood of our community listening to residents to understand the issues that are important to them, including property taxes, our environment, development and density, safety, and a balanced budget.
Council Member Palmisano is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (Bachelor of Science), the University of Minnesota (MBA – Strategy and Entrepreneurship), and St. Thomas (Certificate program for Non-Profit Leadership).
