About Kevin Reich

Kevin Reich was elected to represent the First Ward on the Eastside of Minneapolis in 2009. He is vice-chair of the Transportation and Public Works Committee and chairs the Taxes Committee. He also serves on the Community Development and Zoning and Planning committees for the City of Minneapolis. In addition, he chairs the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) and serves on the boards of the Transportation Management Organization (TMO), the Stadium Implementation Committee, the Metropolitan Emergency Services Board (MESB), the Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership (MRP), State Aid Rules Committee, North Metro Mayors Association and Northstar Development Corridor Authority (NCDA).

Prior to his election to the Minneapolis City Council, he spent eight years as the Project Director of Holland Neighborhood Improvement Association (HNIA). He was a founding Board Member of the Eastside Food Co-op, and also their Site Planning Project Chair. He served for many years as the Board of Directors’ Co-chair for the Windom Park Citizens in Action (WPCiA) neighborhood association, as well as their Community Land Use & Planning Committee Chair. He currently serves on the Edison Community & Sports Foundation (ECSF) Board of Directors.

Council Member Reich grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in both Philosophy and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College and has done graduate level coursework in Public Administration at Hamline University.
