Juvenile Division

We coordinate our department's outreach and response efforts focusing on the youth of Minneapolis.

We have outreach and investigative teams, and the Juvenile Diversion Program.

We work with community organizations and the criminal justice system to help provide resources to support the young people of Minneapolis.

Our investigators work cases where non-adult suspects are identified in a variety of crimes including assault, robbery, weapons violations, and auto theft.

Juvenile outreach and diversion

We are officers who work with the city’s youth to offer service, mentorship and opportunities to young men and women who live in Minneapolis.

Our School Resource Officers, assigned to schools throughout the city, give students with the chance to interact with police in a positive setting.

We focus on decriminalization and diversion.

Police Activities League (PAL)

We work to develop strong community, youth and police relationships through mentorship, activities, events and athletics.

Our goal  is to  help youth discover their potential, find value in their own creativity, gain confidence, and develop life-skills.

Missing children investigations

We work on missing and exploited children cases.
