A summary of public feedback (pdf) is available for review.

November 29, 2010

The City of Minneapolis is currently working on a project to make pedestrian improvements to 7th Street N between Plymouth Avenue N and Twins Way.

The first phase of public input was a field tour in April of 2010. A group of approximately 15 community members joined Public Works staff to share their ideas about improving the pedestrian environment. As a result of that field tour (pdf), Public Works staff has a list of spot improvement ideas which include more visible crosswalks, new curb ramps, pedestrian countdown timers, wider medians, wider sidewalks, and better lighting.

The second phase involves presenting a list of potential spot improvements to neighborhood groups and other interested community members. The list of improvements exceeds the available project budget (the total funding available for construction of this project is $145,000). As a result the community will be asked to share their priorities via a ballot (pdf). Please return your ballot by December 16, 2010.

Other Information

This project was funded by the federal Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program.
