Minneapolis #1 in the Nation for National Night Out 2011!
As we have many times in the past, participation by Minneapolitans outranked all U.S. cities over 250,000 population in 2011. Nearly 1,200 events took place, with over 60,000 citizens attending. We hope all past organizers and many new ones will join us again this year, because--

National Night Out 2012 is coming up! Look forward to the 29 th Annual NNO to occur on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, holding block parties and getting to know their neighbors as a way to encourage crime prevention. It's a great way to promote community-police partnerships and enjoy a Minnesota summer evening surrounded by friends and family. For more information, see the Minneapolis NNO mission statement.
Whether it's your first time planning an event or you're continuing a tradition of years on your block, keep this link bookmarked so when you are ready, you can register your event online or through 311. Remember! If you want to block your street, you can do so for free through July 24. Not all streets can be blocked, depending on traffic flow. From July 25 through August 2, there is a $100 fee. After August 2 no applications for blocking off a street will be allowed.
