City seeks candidates for Director of Solid Waste and Recycling
The City of Minneapolis is seeking a seasoned and visionary leader to head its Solid Waste & Recycling Division. This position is appointed by the Director of Public Works and reports to the Deputy Director of the department and administers an annual operating budget of $29.6 million, with corresponding revenue in excess of $30 million.
The division leader will work collaboratively with elected officials, City departments, other government agencies, businesses, community leaders and the public in not only maintaining the highly effective services currently performed by the SW & R division but also leading the city towards being an internationally recognized leader for a healthy environment and sustainable future. It is expected that Minneapolis will consider major changes to its recycling program and the implementation of organics collection in the next few years.
To be considered, candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, business administration, or other relevant fields and six years of progressively responsible experience in business management, preferably in solid waste and recycling.
