Plan ahead as May 26 events bring extra traffic into downtown Minneapolis
Public urged to take advantage of a variety of transportation options
Wednesday, May 26 will be a very busy day in Downtown Minneapolis, with multiple events that will draw tens of thousands of people. Many more vehicles and pedestrians than average are expected as event attendees and commuters arrive Downtown; so anyone who’s headed downtown Minneapolis should plan ahead and explore their transportation options.
Events on May 26:
- Get Motivated Seminar – 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – A sellout crowd of 19,000 people is expected at Target Center. Doors for the venue will open at 6:45 a.m.
- Twins game vs. the New York Yankees – 6:10 p.m. – A sellout crowd of about 40,000 people will fill Target Field, many of them arriving during the afternoon rush hour. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The City of Minneapolis, Target Center, the Minnesota Twins, and other partners are working together to mitigate traffic congestion as much as possible and to spread the word to folks who are coming Downtown that day so they can plan ahead.
