Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour is April 24 and 25
Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour is offering its 23rd annual tour of more than 50 homes, April 24 and 25, where residents open their doors to reveal "real homes, real people, real ideas" and share creative and practical ideas for kitchens, bathrooms, space additions and more. This free, self guided tour of 35 homes in Minneapolis and 18 in Saint Paul, will take place Saturday, April 24, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, April 25, 1-5 p.m.
Visitors will be able to speak directly with homeowners, and in many cases, their contractors, architects, and other trades people. This year, ten lucky households will come away with free, no-obligation design consultations in a drawing from surveys turned in. Also new this year, a total of four workshops will be offered in the hour before the tour starts, one in each city each of the two days.
Visit the Home Tour website for the workshop schedule and more information to help plan your tour. You can also pick up a copy of the Home Tour Guides with maps, descriptions of all the homes and special features at local libraries in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and suburban Hennepin and Ramsey counties.
The tour began 23 years ago as a celebration of city living and a way to encourage homeowners and potential homeowners to remodel homes and stay in the city, or even move back from the suburbs. The Home Tour is coordinated by Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) with the City of Saint Paul Planning and Economic Development department, and other corporate and non-profit sponsors.
