Learn what it takes to create a community garden

Gardening Matters, an independent organization dedicated to community gardening in the Twin Cities, is sponsoring a free two-hour workshop on starting a community garden. Learn the steps necessary to starting a community garden, and find out about resources available to help. Take home helpful worksheets and information.

Community Garden Workshop
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5
Sabathani Community Center

Third floor, Room J

Light refreshments will be provided. Contributions are welcome to cover costs of materials.

Community gardens provide opportunities to grow food, to share traditions between cultures and generations, to create habitable environments, and most importantly to build community. The workshop is free, but an RSVP is required by Nov. 2. For more information or to RSVP, contact Gardening Matters at (612) 492-8964 or ila.gardeningmatters(at)gmail.com.
