Minneapolis launches voter education tour
The City of Minneapolis Elections Department will travel to every part of the city in the coming weeks to educate voters about the new voting method that voters will use on November 3, 2009.
This "tour of the city" will be a great opportunity for voters to learn more about Ranked Choice Voting and have their questions answered. At these events, voters will be able to practice voting on Ranked Choice Ballots so they know what to expect on Election Day.
If voters cannot attend one of the 14 events, they can still practice using the ballots by checking out a new online tool on the
Ranked Choice Voting website where you will be able to use the interactive ballot tool or to ask a question. This tool helps educate voters by providing an interactive experience that lets them fill out a sample ballot, and it lets the voter know if they make a mistake when filling out the ballot. Voters can also have their questions answered by calling 311. To schedule an interview with the City of Minneapolis Election Director, Pat O’Connor, contact Mike Dean at (612)770-6908.
