Q. How would you describe your leadership style?
A. Collaborative, candid and data-driven.
Q. What’s your first priority as deputy city coordinator?
A. I believe great work comes from great relationships so my initial priority will be to connect with the team and learn about the work staff is focused on to see how my perspective could add value.
Q. What will you miss about leading Regulatory Services?
A. The people. Our staff is truly amazing and dedicated to their work, and it has been one of my greatest honors to serve them. They rock.
Q. What’s your favorite place for lunch in Minneapolis?
A. Depends on the mood and the weather, but I’m partial to the paninis at Café Zentral.
Q. What’s your favorite quote?
A. “Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.” — The Godfather
Q. What’s your favorite movie?
A. The Magnificent Seven.
Q. What music are you listening to lately?
A. Oreja de Van Gogh, Ricardo Arjona, Indigo Girls and Diana Krall.
Q. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
A. I spent some of my youth in eastern Kentucky. If I’m around the slightest bit of an accent, I fall right back in it myself.
Q. What do you like best about working for the City?
A. We have a vision statement in the department that talks about how our work strengthens community – I truly believe that and love doing something that could positively impact someone’s life.
