311 answers 3 million calls, expands hours

The City 311 customer service team recently celebrated the milestone of having answered 3 million calls since the service began in January 2006. The 3 millionth call lasted about 10 minutes and dealt with questions about permits.

311 expands hours of service

Minneapolis 311 will now be available on weekends from  8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. beginning Saturday, May 31. The new weekend hours are in addition to their weekday hours, which are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Minneapolis 311 is part of an ongoing City effort to become easier and more responsive to the needs of residents, business owners and visitors. Minneapolis 311 is a simple, three-digit telephone number anyone in the city can call to inquire about City services, report problems, check the status of issues, or get information. From asking about street sweeping, to finding out where to vote, to reporting a stray dog and a whole lot more, 311 customer service agents are there to help or provide answers on anything City-related.
