Relax and restore with free yoga classes

Relax and restore during your busy workday with 40 minutes of gentle yoga focused on stretching, breathing and mindful awareness of the body.

Culture Club 2.0 in the Health Department offers free yoga classes for City employees in the basement of the Public Service Center from 12:10-12:50 p.m. every two weeks. Employees of all abilities and levels are welcome. The classes are guided by a certified, volunteer yoga instructor, City employee Jared Erdmann, and possibly other volunteer instructors in the future.

Yogis should arrive early to help arrange the room and start class promptly. Bring your own mat and consider bringing a large towel or blanket as a cushion for sensitive knees or joints. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing appropriate for stretching. Be prepared for a light workout that will both calm and energize you to restart your day.

To attend the yoga classes, email Jared Erdmann. He’ll add you to the email distribution list and send you a waiver. You’ll need to sign the waiver and bring it to your first class to participate. Let Jared know if you don’t have a mat, and he can try to make one available for you.
