Farmers market season has returned
The Nicollet Mall and Lyndale farmers markets have reopened for the season. Soon, additional markets will begin opening throughout the metro area.
For vendors who sell locally grown produce, product availability depends on what’s in season. Early spring products typically include bedding plants, patio pots, maple syrup, honey, herbs, eggs and meat. Later this spring, watch for spinach, onions, radishes, lettuce, rhubarb and peas. Given Minnesota’s short growing season, a number of vendors also sell produce that’s grown elsewhere.
