Mentor an Urban Scholar this summer

The Urban Scholars program needs a wide variety of City employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences to mentor undergraduate and graduate students working in City Hall this summer.

Urban Scholars is a highly competitive leadership development summer internship that offers college students meaningful work experiences, training in leadership skills and exposure to careers in the public sector.

Mentors must:

·         Serve as resources and role models to mentees to help them get the most out of their summer internships and visualize paths to their ambitions.

·         Commit to meetings with their mentees twice a month from May 27 to Aug. 15 (face-to-face mentoring is preferred).

·         Attend mentor/mentee luncheons at noon, May 27 and Aug. 14.

·         Attend the Urban Scholars recognition ceremony Aug. 15.

Mentors will have access to online resources to help them in their roles this summer.
