Check if you’re due for the online ethics class
All employees are required to take an ethics refresher class once every three years. You can complete the requirement in about 30 minutes from any computer with Internet access. Topics covered include conflict of interest, outside employment, accepting gifts and the use of City property.
Are you due for a refresher?
To check whether you’re due for the ethics refresher, log onto HRIS, click on “Learning & Development” (left side of page), then click on “My Learning” to see a listing of all the training you’ve completed. Once in “My Learning,” look for the class entitled “Respect in the Workplace Policy and Ethics Code Training.” Click on that class link to see the date you took the course. If you’ve taken the class within the last three years, no action is needed. If it’s been more than three years, you should complete the training.
- Long-time employees: You will have several ethics training entries. Because HRIS does not list your completed classes in any particular order, be sure to scroll down until you find your most recent class. You may also have to select “View all” to see all your completed courses.
- New employees: New employee orientation fulfills the ethics course requirement for your first three years.
