Employees donate more than $101,400 to area charities

This season’s Charitable Campaign wrapped up just before the Thanksgiving holiday with City employees donating more than $101,400 to charitable organizations that help the homeless, protect the environment, bolster the arts, feed the hungry, help families facing chronic illnesses and address other community needs.

While employee participation dropped slightly, the total amount raised this year increased by nearly $3,000. In 2012, 8.4 percent of City employees donated a total of $98,482. This year, 8.1 percent of City employees made donations, bringing the 2013 campaign total to $101,444*.

Employees made donations through annual payroll deduction pledges and one-time check or cash donations. Employees had the option of making a donation to one of the federations listed below and donating to a single charity.
