You can help others by participating in the City’s charitable giving campaign

Each autumn, the City organizes a campaign to make it easy for employees to give something back to the community by making a donation to a charitable cause they support. This year, the campaign, “Better Days, Better Future,” will be led by co-chairs Bridgette Bornstein, Communications, and Brette Hjelle, Public Works. This year’s campaign goals are to increase participation, awareness and engagement.

During the two-week campaign — set for Oct. 11– 25 — employees can make a one-time donation or sign up for a payroll deduction to give to one or more charitable organizations. Last year, the campaign raised $98,482 for organizations working on causes such as reducing homelessness, improving the environment, feeding the hungry, finding disease cures and helping victims of violence.

These nine umbrella organizations — which together represent hundreds of giving options — have been selected to participate in this year’s campaign:

An event is set for 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the City Hall Rotunda. Watch this newsletter and CityTalk for details.
