October is National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month

Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a national campaign to raise awareness about disability employment issues and celebrate the contributions of America's workers with disabilities.

The Minneapolis Advisory Committee on People with Disabilities uses its regularly scheduled October meeting to gather community members, City staff and elected officials to bring awareness to issues important to employees and residents living with disabilities.

City employees are invited to attend this special meeting/event, which is set for:

Wednesday, Oct. 16
5:30-7:30 p.m.
Crown Roller Mill building, 105 Fifth Ave. S. (second floor rotunda)

The evening will begin with a reception, followed by a guest speaker. At the conclusion of the event, the committee will present awards to individuals and/or organizations whose work, knowledge, advocacy or passion in the disability community or on disability issues has been exceptional.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Cheyenne Brodeen at Cheyenne.Brodeen@minneapolismn.gov or 612-673-2052.
