Noontime Weight Watchers needs new members to resume meetings

Many City employees have successfully lost weight through the Weight Watchers at Work program offered at the Public Service Center. Although this program has been inactive since early November due to low attendance, it can resume if at least 15 people express interest in participating.

If you would like to join or are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please email your name and daytime phone number to Amy Friedman, Human Resources, at The informational meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at noon in room 525, Public Service Center, 250 South Fourth Street.

If the program resumes, the group will meet in the Public Service Center on Tuesdays from 12 to 12:30 p.m. Weekly Weight Watchers meetings offer guidance from a group leader and encouragement from members who are seeking sensible weight-loss strategies and healthy eating goals. Discussion topics include: curbing stress eating, making healthy food choices, eating out, getting active, etc.

The cost of a monthly pass is $39.95. If your weight loss has been recommended by your physician, a form is available that can be completed and submitted with a receipt in order to use your flexible spending dollars or HRA/VEBA for reimbursement of the cost.
