Running races, music, family activities and fireworks highlight July 4 holiday

A fun run, a half marathon, music, family activities and the annual Fourth of July fireworks will highlight Independence Day activities along the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis.

Participate in the Hot Dam 5K Fun Run/Walk will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3. The run will begin at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park and wind its way along one of the most scenic course in Minneapolis. The TC Half Marathon is a USATF-recognized event that will start at 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 4 on historic Main Street in NE Minneapolis.

The public is invited to celebrate the sights and sounds of the Fourth of July along the Mississippi riverfront, historic Main Street and West River Parkway in Minneapolis from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Father Hennepin Bluffs Park. There will be four outdoor music stages, a family fun zone with arts and crafts, food and stunning fireworks (that can be viewed all along downtown riverfront locales) to follow as the sun sets.
