Be sure to redeem Nice Ride bike membership discount by May 31

If you picked up a Nice Ride discount certificate at one of the events held earlier this month, be sure to redeem it by the May 31 deadline.

The discount certificates enable City employees to buy an annual membership in the bike sharing program for $15, a savings of $50 off the $65 annual membership fee. The discount was arranged through Human Resources and Nice Ride Minnesota.

Enrollment for first-time subscribers

To redeem the discount, go to www.niceridemn.org to create an account with Nice Ride Minnesota. You will need to provide your name, home address as well as a credit card number. (The credit card would be charged to pay trip fees if you keep the Nice Ride bike longer than 30 minutes.)  At the end of your account set-up, you will be able to enter in your discount certificate number.

Enrollment for renewing subscribers

To renew a membership, go to the Nice Ride website and enter your coupon code when directed through the renewal process.

About Nice Ride

Nice Ride Minnesota is a bike-sharing system that provides easy-to-ride, three-speed bikes at more than 100 self-service kiosks. Annual subscribers get a key they insert into the Nice Ride kiosk. With a key, subscribers don’t have to use the pay station, swipe a credit card or pay a security deposit to check out a bike.

Because Nice Ride is designed to encourage short trips, there is no charge for the first 30 minutes of every ride. If you keep the bike longer than 30 minutes, a trip fee is charged. To avoid trip fees, ride your bike to a station near your destination and check the bike into the bike kiosk. When you’re ready to return, check out another bike. That way, you’re restarting the clock for your return trip.

For more information or assistance, visit the Nice Ride website or call customer service at 1-866-551-6423.
