Free health screening tests offered at May 10 health fair

The final health fair offered by the Human Resources Department and the City’s Wellness Committee is set for Thursday, May 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Minneapolis Park Board, 2117 West River Road.

Staff from Mercy Hospital’s wellness program will be on hand to check blood pressure, total cholesterol, HDL, HDL ratio, blood sugar and Body Mass Index. Hospital staff will be on hand that same day to explain the tests and review your results.

In addition to the free health screenings, representatives from the City’s Benefits office, Medica (the City’s health plan provider) and other health and wellness vendors will be on hand to answer questions about their services.

Note: The series of health fairs included a total of six events; the fairs at the Hiawatha Maintenance Facility, Currie Conference Center, Water Plant, City Hall and the Housing Authority were held previously.
