City making updates to downtown parking meter system

Beginning today, April 15, the City is updating rates, hours of enforcement and maximum parking times for downtown parking meters.

The City encourages people parking for longer durations downtown to use off-street parking options. The primary goal of downtown metered parking is to provide convenient short-term parking. The changes will impact 2,626 parking spaces.  Many meter rates in the downtown core have not changed for more than 20 years.

Note: Metered spaces have varying time restrictions and rates so be sure to follow posted instructions. You can pay for metered parking at pay stations with coins, credit cards or by using the City’s on-street parking app.

For more information about the City’s parking meters and off-street parking options, visit or call 311.
