Civil Rights Department hosting event to share tips on doing business with the City
The City’s Civil Rights Department is hosting a free event Wednesday, May 23 in North Minneapolis geared toward small, minority and women-owned businesses to provide information on doing business with the City of Minneapolis.
The event at 1011 W. Broadway Ave. Suite 105 will cover a range of topics, including an overview of the basics of doing business with the City, information about certifications and resources available to small, minority and women-owned businesses and upcoming business opportunities with the City. The City purchases a wide range of goods and services, providing many opportunities for small businesses to bid for contracts.
Staff will also take feedback on how the City can better support small, minority and women-owned businesses. The City’s Civil Rights Department will be joined by representatives of the City’s Community Planning and Economic Development department, the City’s Small Business Team, Procurement division, Public Works, the Minneapolis Convention Center and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, among others. For questions about the event, contact the Civil Rights Department at 612-673-3012.
