Bring your old clothing and damaged electronics for free support at Worn Wear Tour fix-it event
The Worn Wear Tour is an event that promotes upcycling and reuse of clothing and materials. There will be opportunities to repair and upcycle old clothing, fix damaged electronics, and other activities centered around sustainability and reuse. The University of Minnesota Worn Wear Tour is free and open to the public.
If you have a computer or laptop that is running slowly, not working or seems to have a virus, you can bring it in (with power cords) for free tech support. Volunteers will teach you valuable repair skills, answer questions, and give technical advice about computers and laptops. Computers and laptops will be looked at on a first-come, first-served basis. The consultation and labor are free, and volunteers can offer advice on purchasing parts online or at local repair stores. Volunteers may be able to help with smartphones and tablets depending on capacity.
You can also find free workshops and resources including internet safety and computer training, job hunting and education online, and information on IT education programs and IT careers.
