Public hearing May 18 for draft paid sick and safe time ordinance

A public hearing Wednesday, May 18, on a draft ordinance for a municipal paid sick and safe time policy is set as part of a specially scheduled meeting of the City Council’s Committee of the Whole.

Public hearing process

Speaker registration begins at 2:30 p.m. outside the Council Chamber.

Speakers will be called in the order they registered. Each speaker will have two minutes to address the committee during the public hearing.

Individuals and groups may submit comments or supplement their testimony with materials. A minimum of 20 copies of the materials should be provided to the clerk at the hearing.

Future City Council actions

A second special Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for May 26 to consider, amend and vote on the paid sick and safe time ordinance with a vote taking action on the ordinance at the regular full City Council meeting May 27.
