Downtown section of Cedar Lake Trail closing for two weeks

The downtown Minneapolis section of the Cedar Lake Trail will close to bicycles and pedestrians from Monday, March 7 to Friday, March 18. The closing is taking place so crews can remove a retaining wall at a building construction site.

The trail closing will be from 12th Street/Glenwood Avenue to Azine Way by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Signs will be posted to divert bicycle and pedestrian traffic to surface streets. A detour map is available on the City’s website.

Another closing of this trail is anticipated this spring so crews can perform restoration work to the trail, which was damaged due to building construction. The contractors responsible for the damage will pay for all repairs needed to restore the trail to its original condition.
