I-35W Bridge, downtown buildings will be yellow to mark Minneapolis becoming a Yellow Ribbon community

Minneapolis is now part of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon network, which seeks to assist veterans, active duty military personnel and their immediate families. Tonight, the Interstate 35W Bridge over the Mississippi River and two downtown buildings will be lit yellow to help bring attention to this effort and the city’s involvement.

The designation is part of Beyond the Yellow Ribbon: a program that helps connect service members and their families with community support, training, services and resources. By becoming a Yellow Ribbon community, Minneapolis will join other communities and businesses that are part of this network.  Veterans, active service members and their families who are in Minneapolis can call 311 and an agent will get them to the right program specialists.

Along with yellow lights on the I-35W Bridge, the tops of the IDS Center and Target corporate headquarters will also be illuminated yellow tonight.

More information on Beyond the Yellow Ribbon is available at www.beyondtheyellowribbon.org.
