On Nov. 5, folks across Minneapolis will head to the polls to cast their votes in our municipal election. Minneapolis is planning for high voter turnout, and election judges at the polls are key to making sure voters can get through the voting process smoothly. More than 1,100 people are already scheduled to be election judges, but the City is still looking for more people to sign up to help on Election Day. Folks who speak more than one language are especially encouraged to sign up.

Election judges are the officials that staff local polling places, administer election procedures, and ensure that the rights of voters are protected on Election Day. Election judges open and close the polls, register and sign in voters, distribute and collect ballots, operate voting equipment, and record and certify vote totals. Serving as an election judge provides an opportunity to learn about the elections process and is a great service to our community.
