Minneapolis police reach out to Downtown businesses ahead of a busy weekend

Ahead of a busy holiday weekend in downtown Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Police Department is reaching out to businesses in a new video that outlines what police are doing to keep Downtown safe through the summer. The video message from Assistant Chief Janeé Harteau has been sent to more than 4,000 bar and restaurant owners, property managers, security personnel, and residential property owners and managers.

The video can be viewed online on YouTube. In her message, Assistant Chief Harteau talks about some of the tactics that police are using Downtown this summer, including more cops, security cameras, mounted patrol, and coordination with hundreds of security guards at Downtown facilities and businesses. She also thanks businesses for their continued help in reporting suspicious activities and for all their work in making Downtown a safe place for the millions of people who visit every month.
