Gregory Stubbs is City’s new Regulatory Services Director
The Minneapolis City Council approved Mayor R.T. Rybak’s nomination of Gregory Stubbs as the next director of the Department of Regulatory Services at its Friday, Nov. 18 meeting. Mayor Rybak announced his nomination of Stubbs on Oct. 11.
Stubbs brings many years of experience in managing compliance, planning, development and sustainability for local governments. Most recently, he served as director of Growth and Resource Management for Volusia County, Florida (population 495,000), where he was responsible for a budget of $34 million and 180 full-time positions. In that role, he managed permitting, licensing, planning and economic development. Stubbs has also served as director of planning and/or development for the City of Deltona, Florida; the City of Baytown, Texas; Sumter County, Florida; and Lake County, Florida.
He has also worked in the private sector as a consultant and a business developer. He holds a B.A. from the University of South Carolina and is certified by the American institute of Certified Planners.
